The Bloodhound Home Inspector Pledge
“I became a Victoria home inspector because I wanted to help people make sensible decisions — especially first time home buyers. I own a home in Victoria. I’ve lived here my whole life, and I love it. But in the rush to buy, I see many people get blinded by the wrong things: how high the ceilings are, for example, versus the condition of the house’s foundation. The kind of things that can lead to a ‘money pit.’ You ought to know what you’re getting into before you buy. Because finding out your foundation leaks after you’ve bought is a soul-crusher. That’s why we’ve created the Bloodhound Pledge.”
James Tillapaugh, Founder/Senior Home Inspector
We’re committed to being the best home inspectors.
We’re not perfect, but that doesn’t stop us from striving to be the best. Contrary to what you may think, not all home inspectors are created equal. Many, for example, will boast about years of experience, but 30 years of experience is pointless if it simply means repeating one year of training 30 times over. That’s why we focus on continuously improving by taking courses in the latest building technology and tools.
We always act with honesty, integrity, and transparency.
Let’s be honest — objectivity is impossible. We’re all shaped by our past experience. Instead we focus on impartiality. That means not feeling pressured by any third party that could influence the integrity of your inspection. We aren’t compensated by anyone who refers us (or who we, in turn, refer to), nor do we let the prospect of future referrals influence us. In any way. Ever. We never give opinions on things we aren’t qualified in, nor do we overstate our qualifications. We refrain from ‘passing or failing’ a house and instead focus on giving you the facts. You’ll have the information needed to make the call yourself. Our home inspection licenses and certifications include:
